Drakensberg »
Drakensberg -- Afrikaans: "Dragon's
Mountain -- is the highest mountain range in Southern
Africa, with tops up to 3 480 m. It's located in the east part of South
Africa.
The uKhahlamba National Park is a 2430 km² large park -- a World
Heritage Site -- that has
an average altitude of 3000 m.
The big nature attraction is the Amphitheater, a rock wall about
5km in length, and around 1000m in height between the
western Sentinel -3 165
m and Eastern Buttress -3 047m.
We stayed at Thendele Camp with a wonderful view over the mountains
and valleys.
